Deer Creek Winery offers direct-to-consumer wine shipping through our fulfillment partner, Vinoshipper. This policy outlines our shipping practices and what you can expect when ordering wine online.
Where We Ship
We ship to states where direct-to-consumer wine shipping is legally permitted. Eligible states are reflected at checkout — if your shipping address is in a state we cannot ship to, the order will not be processed.
If your state is not currently on our shipping list, you are welcome to visit one of our Western Pennsylvania winery locations.
For the current list of states we ship to, please proceed to checkout — eligible states are confirmed at the time of order.
Shipping Carrier
All online orders ship via UPS through Vinoshipper. At checkout, you’ll be able to select from available shipping speeds (Ground, 3-Day, 2-Day, etc.).
We recommend an expedited shipping method during periods of extreme heat or cold to help protect your wine from temperature-related damage. You are solely responsible for selecting the shipping method, and Vinoshipper assumes no liability for products that are or may be damaged by heat or cold during shipping.
Shipping Costs
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on order weight, destination, and shipping speed selected. Standard UPS rates apply unless otherwise indicated.
Adult Signature Requirement
Federal and state law requires an adult age 21 or older with a valid government-issued photo ID to be present and sign for all wine deliveries. UPS will not leave wine packages unattended at any address.
Please plan to have someone 21+ available to receive your shipment, or use one of the alternative delivery options below.
Order Processing
Most orders are processed within 1–2 business days of order placement. You will receive a tracking number by email once your order ships.
Delivery Process
UPS will make three consecutive business-day attempts to deliver your order. UPS does not specify the time of delivery but will provide the date(s).
If all three attempts are unsuccessful, UPS will hold your order at the local UPS distribution center for five business days. After that hold period, the package will be returned to the winery and you will be charged for the return shipping. If you would like the order resent, you will also be charged for re-shipping.
Alternative Delivery Options
To help ensure successful delivery, consider:
- Ship to a business address where someone 21+ is available to sign during business hours
- Local UPS Store — many UPS Store locations will accept wine deliveries on your behalf for a small fee (typically $5–$10 per package)
- UPS Will Call — set the order up for pickup at the local UPS Service Center after it ships. You’ll have five business days to pick it up at no additional charge.
In-transit changes to the delivery date or address are available through UPS for a $20 per-package fee plus any additional shipping charges.
Weather Holds
Alcohol can be damaged by exposure to extreme weather, including extreme heat or freezing temperatures. We may place a temporary hold on shipments to states experiencing such conditions. If your order is held due to weather, you will be notified by email.
To minimize weather-related risk, we recommend choosing an expedited shipping method or scheduling your order during milder weather windows.
Damaged or Lost Shipments
If your order arrives damaged or does not arrive, please refer to our Return Policy for instructions on how to report the issue and arrange a replacement or refund.
If damage is visible at delivery, please refuse the package from the carrier and contact us immediately so we can arrange a replacement.
International Shipping
We do not currently ship internationally. All shipments must be to addresses within eligible U.S. states.
